The October Canada Child Benefit (CCB) will be paid on Tuesday, October 20. The CCB is a tax-free monthly payment provided to families raising children under the age of 18 to help cover daily child-rearing expenses such as groceries, clothing, and childcare.
- Maximum payment amount for the 2026–2027 year: $679.75 per month ($8,157 per year) per child under 6 years old, and $573.58 per month ($6,883 per year) for children aged 6–17.
- The actual amount is determined based on the number and age of children, and the 2025 adjusted family net income. If the adjusted family net income is less than $38,237, you receive the maximum amount, and if it is more than that, it is reduced in stages according to income.
- In the case of joint custody, each parent receives 50% of the amount they would receive if they were in full custody.
- If the deposit is not made on the payment date, the recommended procedure is to wait 5 business days and then contact the CRA.
- The next payment date is November 20, and the December payment will be paid on December 11 due to the year-end schedule.
When planning your household expenses, it is helpful to check the deposit schedule for October 20 and your household's payment amount in your CRA account in advance.
