TitleExpress Entry Scoring Overhaul on November 3 — Up to 150 points for experience and job offers in high-wage occupations, LMIA requirements eliminated2026-10-22 18:45

The Express Entry reforms announced by the Canadian federal government on October 16 will take effect on November 3. The key point is to award higher Composite Ranking Points (CRS) to Canadian experience and job offers in high-paying occupations.

- New Category: A 'Labour Market Integration Factor' has been introduced, and only the higher score between a job offer and Canadian work experience is recognized. The two cannot be combined.

- Job Offer Score: You receive 50 points if the national median wage of your occupation is 1.3 times the total median wage, 70 points if it is 1.5 times, and 100 points if it is 2 times. The target is 186 high-wage occupations, and the evaluation is based on the median wage of the occupation (NOC), not the individual annual salary.

- Canadian Experience Points: If you have 12 months or more of work experience in a high-wage occupation, 20, 40, or 70 points are added depending on the grade, and combined with your existing experience points (maximum 80 points), you can receive up to 150 points.

- Abolition of LMIA Requirements: A Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is no longer required for job offers to earn points. The same applies to job offer requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSWP) and Skilled Worker Training Program (FSTP).

- What to do: Canadian work experience points are automatically reflected in your existing profile, but to receive job offer points, you must update your job offer information on your profile before November 3. Invitations may be suspended for up to two weeks during the points recalculation period.

If you are currently in the Express Entry pool or working in Canada, please check in advance whether your occupation is included in the high-paying list and whether your profile information is up to date.
