The October payment for the Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) will be deposited today, Friday, October 9. Normally, it is paid on the 10th of every month, but since October 10th this year falls on a Saturday, it has been moved up to the preceding business day. This payment is the fourth monthly payment for the 2026-27 benefit year (July 2026–June 2027).

  • composition: The OTB provides a combination of three credits. The Sales Tax Credit (OSTC) is up to $378 per person per year, the Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC) is up to $1,307 per year for those aged 18–64 and up to $1,488 per year for those aged 65 and older, and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC) is up to $189 per year for a single-person household and up to $290 per year for a family.
  • How to apply: There is no separate application required; eligibility is determined by the 2025 income tax return. To receive OEPTC and NOEC, you must complete the ON-BEN form when filing.
  • Payment Method: If the annual amount is $500 or less, it is paid out in a lump sum in July; if it exceeds $500, it is received in monthly installments. When making a direct deposit, it may appear as 'Canada PRO Deposit' on your bank statement.
  • If you don't see the deposit: Please check your payment status and deposit account in CRA My Account first, and CRA recommends waiting 10 business days from the payment date before making an inquiry. The next payment date is November 10.
