Title[Lifestyle Info] Ontario Trillium Benefits Deposited on October 9 — Paid One Day Earlier Than Usually2026-10-05 18:38
CategoryLiving Information
Name

Monthly payments to Ontario residents Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) The deposit date for October is this Friday. October 9thIt has been confirmed as such.

OTB is typically deposited on the 10th of every month, but since October 10th of this year falls on a Saturday, it will be moved forward by one day to the preceding weekday, the Friday. This is the fourth monthly deposit for the 2026–27 benefit year, which began in July, and the amount is the same as that already calculated based on the 2025 income tax return.

The OTB is a program that combines three provincial tax credits into a single payment. These include the Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC, up to $378 per person annually), the Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC, up to $1,307 per year for non-seniors, easing the burden of heating, rent, and property taxes), and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit (available only to residents of the North). Payment is made if you qualify for just one of these three items. The CRA automatically calculates the amount simply by filing your tax return, although the OEPTC and NOEC require the submission of the ON-BEN form when filing.

If you filed your 2025 return late, please file promptly, as the deposit may be delayed if your report is not yet processed. The deposit name displayed on your bank statement may be 'Canada PRO Deposit.' If the deposit is not received, please contact CRA Benefit Inquiries (1-800-387-1193) 10 business days after the deposit date.
