Canada's Old Age Security (OAS) will increase by 1.41 TP3T due to price adjustments for the October-December quarter, and the increased amount will be applied starting with payments on Wednesday, October 28. This increase is the largest of the four adjustments made this year and represents a rise of 3.01 TP3T compared to October of last year.
- Maximum monthly amount for ages 65–74: $751.97 → $762.50 (Monthly $10.53 increase)
- Maximum monthly amount for ages 75 and older: $827.17 → $838.75 (Monthly increase of 1 TP/4 T/11.58, including an additional 101 TP/3 T for ages 75 and older)
- Next payment dates in the same quarter: November 26, December 22 — CPP is also deposited on the same days.
- The above amount is the maximum for those who have resided in Canada for 40 years after the age of 18, and it decreases proportionally if the period of residence is shorter (e.g., 25/40 of the maximum amount for 25 years of residence)
- GIS (Income Support) and Allowance also increase by the same 1.41 TP3T.
Service Canada applies the increase automatically, so no separate application is required. You can check your payment amount in My Service Canada Account, and if the amount differs, please contact Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914.
